OBJECTIVES

Overall objectives

The main objective shall be to develop, test and validate an integrated “short circuit” biomass market management model that can be extended to the great majority of territories with forest resources in the SUDOE

The project will help to improve the forest area management methods of the SUDOE, adapting them to meet the energy needs and demands of the local biomass market. The transnational networking between the actors making up the biomass market value chain and the joint experimentation will make it possible to define a management model that integrates best practices in the area of supply and demand and guarantees the economic valorization of the forest production and also environmental sustainability.

It shall be possible to adapt and transfer the management model developed to most of the regions within the SUDOE territory.

Specific objectives

  • Identify, select and study best management practicesfor supply and stimulation of the demand for biomass and to extract those lessons learned and that can be transferred to other regions.
  • Develop a short-circuit biomass integrated management model that includes best practicesand offers a response to the problems detected, while ensuring that it is adaptable to the changing realities of the different territories of the SUDOE.
  • Validate and correct the model developed, by applying it to a limited number of “pilot schemes” in different territories of the SUDOE and disseminating the model throughout the SUDOE territory.

Project funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
