Descrição detalhada da prática ou projeto

The demonstration project for the use of biomass in Andalusia has developed actions on a plot of this group of mountains included in barracks D (cantons 33 and 34). The actions have been the measurement of the processes derived from the use of this forest, granted by the Ministry of Environment to a private forestry company. This use has consisted of a cut made on the mass of Pinus pinaster to make a substitution of species and a successive clearing on Pinus pinea. The work of this demonstration project in Monte Caballeras has been the monitoring, control of times and yields of the execution of the exploitation by the winning company, without affecting the organization of its work. The land where time tracking has been carried out has an area of 10.98 ha, an average slope of 45%, N-NE orientation, terraced and without significant rocky outcrops.

The data collection has been carried out from October 2010 to June 2011. On the one hand, the mass has been characterized by conducting a previous inventory, the attachment of type trees and the measurement of modular values. On the other hand, the time control of the development of the works has been carried out by continuous timing. It has also had a portable scale that has allowed the weighing of the trucks and the self-loading. The implementation of the use has been conditioned by the high slope that has limited the transit of machinery, relying on fire belts and take-off tracks.

SURVEY

• MANUAL SURVEYING

• MECHANIZED SURVEYING

HAULING

• The landing has been carried out in two phases. In the first one, the whole tree meeting was carried out on the drainage tracks by dragging through contour lines.

• Second phase of disembarkation, the double axis autoloader (VALMET 860) unsealed the timber logs and tree canopies or remains destined for biomass to a passable fire belt giving rise to differentiated batteries. The average height of the cup stack was 2.5 meters.

CHIPPER

• The chipping has been carried out during the spring with the chipper on a chassis of wheels and towed (JENZ HEM651DQ) having obtained a fairly homogeneous splinter in size, with moderate presence of whole needles and absence of whole corsages.

• The last activity of the exploitation is the loading of the trailer truck to transport the splinter from the loading dock to the consuming plant.

Highlights the lower costs of the stand where it has been possible to perform the mechanized attachment, since for the meeting and disembarkation the work of the tractors has not been necessary to be able to travel the entire work area the autoloader. During material processing there is a significant variation in moisture content. Thus, it has gone from 51% of moisture in the standing tree, to 37% of splintered feet after 5 months from the cut, to a final percentage of 29% in the splinter destined for the plant.
